The Legal department is involved in all of the company’s projects in Brazil, but I can highlight the following as the most significant:

The team has led mediations in judicial and administrative cases, resulting in a substantial reduction of the company’s liabilities in 2024 and 2025. It has also introduced legal design into legal and compliance communications, improving clarity, understanding, and engagement among internal stakeholders.

The department has developed guidelines for contracting advertising and marketing campaigns, as well as establishing rules governing partnerships with influencers. In parallel, it has designed and delivered training programmes for management and senior leadership on sensitive compliance topics.

Another key initiative has been the creation of performance indicator reports to identify the root causes of litigation, enabling the implementation of preventive action plans. In collaboration with the business, the team also contributed to the development of the Code for the Protection and Inclusion of Black Consumers, a non-legislative initiative now being adopted by major retail companies as a practical guide for internal training and customer service, aimed at preventing discrimination. The initiative is intended to eventually become an addendum to the Consumer Protection Code.

Finally, the department has organised a “pro bono day”, during which its lawyers provide free legal advice to employees, among other initiatives.
