What are the most significant cases, projects, or transactions that you and your legal team have recently been involved in?

My team and I recently advised SBA Communications on a major cross‑border telecommunications infrastructure transaction: the approximately US$975mn acquisition of about 7,000 towers from Millicom, together with the creation of a long‑term strategic partnership across Central America. The deal includes a 15‑year master leaseback arrangement under which Millicom continues to occupy the sites, as well as the extension of existing leases on roughly 1,500 additional towers.

It also establishes a build‑to‑suit program for up to 2,500 new sites, significantly expanding SBA’s regional presence. We handled all aspects of the transaction, coordinating a multidisciplinary team across corporate, tax, litigation, executive compensation, environmental, intellectual property, and real estate. This matter stands out for its scale, its multi‑jurisdictional complexity, and its strategic importance to both companies, marking one of the most substantial telecom tower transactions in the region in recent years.
