Professional Biography
Samiksha Kader is an accomplished senior legal executive with extensive experience in commercial law, corporate governance and enterprise risk management within complex, highly regulated environments. She currently serves as General Counsel: Corporate Services and Commercial at Tiger Brands Limited, one of Africa’s leading fast-moving consumer goods companies.
She is an alumna of the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS), having completed the Tiger Brands Leadership Programme as well as the Finance for Non-Finance Executives course. This training has strengthened her ability to operate effectively, translating financial and strategic imperatives into commercially sound legal solutions and enabling constructive, business-focused legal leadership.
In her role at Tiger Brands, Samiksha leads legal strategy, governance alignment and commercial enablement across the organisation. She has oversight of the legal portfolio and team responsible for commercial contracting and enterprise-wide risk mitigation, supporting the business across its operational and strategic initiatives.
Over the past year, Samiksha and her team have been involved in several high-impact and complex matters, including the renewal and optimisation of long-term technology infrastructure outsourcing arrangements, multi-year commercial programmes with critical suppliers, and major cross-functional transformation initiatives. While much of this work is confidential due to its commercially sensitive nature, it has been characterised by a strong focus on enabling the business through robust, flexible commercial and technology contracts that balance cost discipline with effective risk management.
Samiksha is known for her structured, calm and practical approach during periods of organisational or market uncertainty. Her leadership is anchored in proactive risk identification, disciplined contract management with clear escalation mechanisms, and the delivery of commercially pragmatic solutions that support business continuity whilst maintaining governance integrity.
She is also a key driver of digital transformation within the legal function, advocating for the responsible adoption of digital and AI-enabled tools. Her approach integrates early-stage risk mapping into transformation initiatives, ensuring compliance with privacy, POPIA, data retention and cross-border data requirements. She actively promotes digital workflows and prioritises cultural change, user adoption and skills development as critical enablers of sustainable transformation.
In addition, Samiksha plays a strategic role in mergers and acquisitions, focusing on holistic transaction structuring that aligns legal frameworks with commercial objectives. She works closely with executive, finance, tax and business teams to manage legal, financial and operational risk, ensuring that transactions support long-term value creation and operational agility.
