Career Biography

Delia C. Reyes is currently Vice President, Associate Counsel for Compliance & Ethics at Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits (SGWS) – Central Region. She joined SGWS in March 2020 and has since held legal and compliance roles of increasing responsibility.

Prior to joining SGWS, Delia gained extensive industry experience with one of SGWS’s largest suppliers, Bacardi North America, where she oversaw the company’s legal operations across areas including global procurement, marketing and innovation, distributor arrangements, trade practice and regulatory compliance, and corporate communications. Before joining Bacardi as a consultant, Delia served as Senior Procurement Counsel at SABMiller, Inc., then the world’s second-largest brewer. In that role, she was responsible for developing and strengthening procurement legal support standards, systems and service levels throughout the Latin America region. She was also a member of the Latin America Procurement Leadership team and was the recipient of the LATAM Procurement Recognition Award for her partnership and contributions to year-end goals.

Earlier in her career, Delia worked as Corporate Counsel at Grupo Phoenix, a minority-owned business specialising in rigid packaging with operations across Latin America and the United States. Before joining Grupo Phoenix, she served as Legal Director for the Latin America region at Burger King Corporation and practised as an attorney in Venezuela.

Delia is a graduate of the SGWS EmpowHER leadership programme and a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion in the workplace, with a particular focus on women’s professional development. She currently serves on the board of the South Florida Women’s In-House Counsel Group and previously participated in Bacardi’s Women’s Leadership Workplace Engagement Committee and Mentoring Programme.

Delia is a Venezuelan-qualified attorney and holds a Master of Laws (LLM) degree from the University of Miami. She is admitted to practise in the State of New York and is authorised to practise in Florida as an in-house counsel.

In her spare time, Delia enjoys spending time with her family, reading and trying new recipes. Her current favourite drink is a chilled glass of Sauvignon Blanc.
