Managing legal aspects during instability or crises:

In a rapidly expanding business environment, now with over 150 stores across Mexico, I’ve led legal strategy focused on enabling business continuity and resilience. My approach centers on proactive risk anticipation, cross-functional coordination, and compliance reinforcement, positioning legal not just as a safeguard but as a strategic enabler.

During instability, I’ve directed legal responses to critical incidents, implementing rapid risk assessment protocols and mobilising multidisciplinary teams to deliver swift, business-aligned solutions. These efforts mitigated reputational and operational risks, preserved stakeholder confidence and ensured uninterrupted operations.

By embedding legal strategy into core planning, I’ve strengthened compliance frameworks and cultivated a culture of transparency and shared objectives across departments, reinforcing regulatory resilience and operational excellence.

Major recent cases or transactions:

As Director of Corporate Counsel for Mexico and LATAM, I’ve led transformative legal initiatives that enabled business growth, operational continuity, and strategic alignment across the region.

One of my most recent contributions involves coordinating the legal consolidation of 47´Brand, where I’m working with cross-functional teams to develop a compliant, agile integration strategy. This initiative is accelerating market entry across LATAM while ensuring alignment with internal policies and regulatory frameworks.

I oversee legal operations for over 250 stores across LATAM, implementing civil protection and continuity strategies tailored to diverse regulatory environments. These efforts fortified resilience and safeguarded operations in complex jurisdictions.

Currently, I’m leading the expansion of New Era stores in Brazil, crafting investment models that balance agility with compliance. My approach preserves brand integrity while adapting to local market dynamics, ensuring legal remains a strategic enabler of growth.

I’ve also negotiated and closed high-impact contracts critical to operations in Mexico and Latin America, including strategic collaborations that influence business flow and market positioning.

In parallel, I coordinate with our brand protection team, designing anti-counterfeiting strategies that safeguard intellectual property and reinforce market presence.

To modernise legal operations, I launched a compliance and process optimization program that: reduced internal legal response times by over 40%; enhanced interdepartmental coordination; and fostered a business-oriented legal culture across LATAM.

These initiatives elevated legal from a reactive safeguard to a proactive business partner, driving innovation, supporting expansion, and reinforcing stakeholder confidence.

Law firms regularly instructed:

To meet diverse legal demands across LATAM, I’ve developed a hybrid engagement model integrating top-tier international and regional firms. This ensures global alignment and local precision, enabling swift, effective responses to complex challenges.

This network allows us to leverage specialised talent for daily operations and secure robust support for cross-border matters.Through joint project coordination, we’ve achieved faster contract turnaround; improved compliance outcomes; and enhanced agility across jurisdictions.
