How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crises, and how does your legal strategy align with the broader business strategy to ensure the organisation’s resilience?
I see the role of an in-house lawyer as being a partner to the business, not a roadblock. In moments of uncertainty, my first step is always to stay close to business leaders and listen carefully to their priorities. That context helps me see how Legal can add value to keep the business teams moving forward. My focus is on breaking down complex issues, giving clear and practical guidance, and earning trust so that the Legal team is seen as a true partner to the business.
What are the major cases or transactions you have been involved in recently?
My recent work has focused on supporting Salesforce’s strategic growth in Mexico by advising on how our largest customers can implement digital transformation through AI-driven, data-centric cloud solutions.
I have worked closely with major banking institutions as they adapt Salesforce’s technology within a highly regulated industry. More recently, I have been advising our teams as we introduce Agentforce to customers in Mexico, helping to guide the implementation of AI. I have also been involved in strengthening our Public Sector Solutions in the region by working on how governments and public institutions can use our technology more effectively.
As the regulatory landscape for AI is still evolving, my role has been to help customers navigate the adoption of these technologies. It has been rewarding to play a part in enabling these institutions to take meaningful steps in their digital transformation journey.
How do you prioritise diversity and inclusion within your legal department, and what initiatives have you implemented to foster a more inclusive and equitable work environment?
Diversity and inclusion are top priorities for me. I currently serve as President of Outforce Mexico, Salesforce’s LGBTQ+ Equality Group. Outforce is about creating a space where employees feel empowered to show up as their full, authentic selves every day. We also work to educate our broader ecosystem on how equality drives business success. I’ve seen firsthand how a culture of openness and representation creates stronger teams and better outcomes, not just for employees, but also for the organisation as a whole.
