Armando Ortiz González graduated from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM).

He is General Counsel and Secretary of the Board of Directors of Principal Financial Group Mexico, where he also serves on various corporate governance committees. His experience spans multiple areas of financial and corporate law, including corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, labour relations, anti-corruption practices, personal data protection, technology regulation, and antitrust.

He is recognised for his leadership and technical expertise, with over twenty-five years of experience in the Mexican pension system, during which he has contributed to the development and modernisation of the Retirement Savings System and actively participated in specialised sector initiatives and forums.

Committed to social responsibility, he has collaborated on educational programmes and support for people with disabilities. He is distinguished by his ethical approach, technical leadership, and dedication to strengthening governance within financial sector institutions.
