What are the most significant cases, projects, or transactions that you and your legal team have recently been involved in?

As CUBVN keeps expanding, both consumer banking and corporate banking, our legal team has been involving in many significant and remarkable projects:

We have been assisting in many landmark syndications where CUB acts as mandated lead arranger and bookrunner and facility agent.

We are working with many teams, both locally and regionally, on potential projects, ranging from IFC-related matters to API/AI & cloud service related matters

I myself hosted as the MC and the moderator at our 2025 Tax & Investment Seminar: Opportunities and Challenges to Corporates in Vietnam.

How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crisis to ensure the organisation’s resilience?

My motto is to be vigilant and observant, while always remaining flexible, adaptable and business-driven

Have you had any experiences during your career as a lawyer that stand out as particularly unique or interesting?

I am proud of myself as a modern inhouse counsel. My work covers a lot more than a traditional lawyer can do at an organisation. I have been proving that an inhouse counsel can actively and effectively support business teams in their front line operations, from deal pitching, structuring, contract negotiations, to branding (as an MC or moderator in non-legal conference as mentioned above)

We are currently living through a time of geopolitical change, and the world order that we have come to take for granted for many years is being rewritten. Does this affect your company’s risk profile and, if so, what are you doing to mitigate this?

This is exactly one of the topics discussed in our 2025 Tax & Investment Seminar (mentioned above). In the face of significant global disruptions – including tariff shocks, geopolitical shifts, and supply chain breakdowns – the world is undergoing an unprecedented strategic transformation. While Vietnam has maintained steady growth in recent years, fluctuations in global demand and geopolitical influences have created uncertainties for businesses in areas like exports, investment, inflation, and exchange rates. From a banking perspective, two things become especially critical in this environment: the structure of a company’s assets and liabilities— particularly leverage and FX exposure—and the stability of its cash flows. Those are the areas banks will scrutinise most closely, and they’re where companies should focus their risk management efforts
