What are the most significant cases, projects, or transactions that you and your legal team have recently been involved in?
As a member of AstraZeneca Vietnam, I am proud to have accompanied the company in advancing strategic projects that enable faster and broader patient access to innovative medicines. These initiatives include local manufacturing, clinical trials, and diverse patient support programs, all of which strengthen our role as a leader in healthcare and a trusted healthcare partner in Vietnam. Our legal team remains fully engaged throughout these projects to ensure compliance, ethical standards, and effective risk management, reflecting AstraZeneca’s enduring commitment to sustainable development, local healthcare improvement, and our broader purpose in creating healthier futures for Vietnamese communities.
How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crisis to ensure the organisation’s resilience?
Ensuring the organisation’s resilience, particularly during times of instability or crisis, requires early and integrated legal support within crisis management processes. My approach focuses on proactively identifying and assessing legal risks, establishing clear protocols, and ensuring all communications remain legally sound. This is balanced by maintaining flexibility and responsible risk-taking in alignment with our business strategy. We reinforce preparedness through regular training and knowledge sharing, so the team is equipped to respond effectively when incidents arise. This approach is consistent with AstraZeneca’s mission of upholding our commitment to sustainable and ethical operations in Vietnam.
Based on your experiences in the past year, are there any trends in the legal or business world that you are keeping an eye on that you think other in-house lawyers should be mindful of?
Over the past year, I have observed that the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and digital transformation is reshaping the legal and business landscape. This momentum creates significant opportunities for innovation and efficiency but also increases governance and risk challenges for in-house counsel. At AstraZeneca, we believe these evolving trends must be approached mindfully and responsibly, both to protect our organisation and to actively support Vietnam’s sustainable healthcare development and digital future.
