What are the most significant cases, projects, or transactions that you and your legal team have recently been involved in?

There are ups and downs (mandatory elevator joke) when it comes to the flow of projects. Thankfully its been a growth period across all our business units (New Equipment, Service and Modernization) which means more projects and cases for the legal & contracts team to handle.

How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crisis to ensure the organisation’s resilience?

I channel my inner legal octopus. One arm for major projects, one for compliance, one for crisis comms, one for risk mitigation… and the rest for good coffee. It’s about staying calm, keeping the rulebook close, and making sure the organisation doesn’t accidentally invent strange stuff while trying to survive the storm.

Have you had any experiences during your career as a lawyer that stand out as particularly unique or interesting?

One of the most unique—and frankly, surreal—moments in my legal career took place in a Finnish sauna. As a lawyer, I’m used to heated debates, but this was the first time the heat was literal. After a long day of meetings, there I was, sitting in a very hot room with my legal colleagues, Lapin Kultas and Karhus in hand, and not much else, trying not to pass out from the heat. The sauna stripped away any formality—alongside with my dignity—and it was one of my first introductions to Finnish culture. Sometimes the best way to bond is to sweat it out together – literally.

How can general counsel foster a corporate culture that supports ESG principles and compliance across all levels of the organisation?

It didn’t go well, but the spirit was there. My passion for sustainability comes from seeing how it’s not just about saving the planet—it’s about smart business, resilient operations, and occasionally, creative recycling. Sustainability is everyone’s responsibility. It isn’t just a department—it’s a mindset.
