How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crisis to ensure the organisation’s resilience?
During these times, it’s important for us to understand the geopolitics (e.g. tariffs, US-China tensions and US-Russia sanctions) which are causing the increasing regulatory complexity across the region and helping our business partners to navigate the disruption. It includes reshaping the legal strategy and navigating the legal and regulatory landscape in strategic planning and execution.
Based on your experiences in the past year, are there any trends in the legal or business world that you are keeping an eye on that you think other in-house lawyers should be mindful of?
We sit at the intersection of rapid progress and increase use of generative AI in our organisation, it is important for us to be the balancer between innovation and control, enablement, and governance. There is increase requirement for oversight of AI adoption in businesses, and business enablers to ensure AI related governance, liability and reputational risk.
