Career Biography
Tri Junanto Wicaksono is the Director of Corporate Affairs & Legal at PT Amerta Indah Otsuka, and a member of the Board of Directors at PT Otsuka Distribution Indonesia. With more than 25 years of experience across FMCG, pharmaceutical, and automotive industries.
He leads a 24-member multidisciplinary team encompassing Legal & Compliance, General Affairs, and Scientific Regulatory Affairs. Since joining Otsuka in 2009, Tri has transformed it into a proactive, business-partnering department that not only ensures compliance but also drives operational excellence and risk management across the company.
Tri’s professional experience spans complex transactions, litigation, crisis management, and policy advocacy. He played a pivotal role in a major cross-border merger and acquisition, leading negotiations and regulatory clearances involving two international shareholders. His ability to balance compliance with strategic alignment ensured a seamless transition and strengthened governance within the company’s ownership structure. He also represented the company and its creditors in the bankruptcy proceedings of 7-Eleven Indonesia, navigating a complex commercial situation involving multiple stakeholders and industry-wide implications.
Beyond his corporate role, Tri is an active figure in Indonesia’s legal and regulatory community. He currently serves as Secretary General of ASRIM (Indonesian Beverage Industry Association), representing the nation’s beverage sector in key policy discussions. In this role, he has advocated for practical and balanced regulations that promote investment and sustainability, including engagement on the Draft Water Resources Law, which has significant implications for both industry and environmental management.
He also serves as Head of Inter-Institutional Relations, Advocacy & Research at the Indonesian Corporate Counsel Association (ICCA), where he works to strengthen the role and independence of in-house counsel and to build stronger partnerships with regulators and professional organizations. His leadership in these associations reflects his belief that collaboration between business and government is essential for legal certainty and economic growth.
