How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crises, and how does your legal strategy align with the broader business strategy to ensure the organisation’s resilience?
The General Counsel needs to be a business partner for the CEO/Management Team. My legal strategy is to be always aligned with business priorities and goals quarter by quarter and in a long-term way. Legal advice/strategy must be different based on which is the goal the company wants to reach.
What are the major cases or transactions you have been involved in recently?
Divestments/Investment in Pharma IP Assetts, the negotiation of core agreements to develop product portfolio and creating brand new legal and compliance structure and behaviors.
What measures has your company taken to embed sustainability practices into its core business operations, and how does the role of the general counsel contribute to driving and ensuring sustainable practices within the company?
Sustainability is not a standalone topic but is part of any decision-making process. The GC can help the management to integrate ESG in the business model and in ensuring the compliance of the model with sustainability requirements.
What emerging technologies do you see as having the most significant impact on the legal profession in the near future, and how do you stay updated on these developments?
AI is and will be revolutionary also for the GC ways of working. GC must not be scared about AI and needs to see AI as an opportunity to focus human skills in better thinking the legal strategy using AI to accelerate implementation/documentation activity.
