Career Biography

Periklis Stroumpos established and is now leading the legal team of Fraport Greece, consisting of eight persons. Fraport Greece, is a member of Fraport Group and is the operator of the 14 Regional Airports of Greece, a leading Airport Operator in Greece. He is also Compliance Officer and secretary of the Board of Directors of Fraport Greece.

He is specialised in the resolution of multimillion technical disputes and ICC Arbitration and is a member of the Greek ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR.

He has been awarded as member of Fraport Greece team, the IJ Global Award for the “Airport Deal of the Year” and the EMEA project finance award for the “Best Transport Infrastructure deal in Central and Eastern Europe” for the takeover of the 14 Regional Airports of Greece in 2017.

He has also been awarded the ACC Value Challenge 2016 award as Head of Legal of Aegean Motorway SA (AMSA) for the implementation of an efficient revenue recovery process that allowed AMSA to recover approx. 5m € from lost tolls while in parallel saving €2.5m of legal expenses. As Head of Legal of AMSA achieved the restructuring of Maliakos Kleidi Concession Project of €1bn value in 2013.

He is member of the Athens Bar admitted to the Greek Supreme Court and of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

During his career, Periklis Stroumpos advised and represented major clients in all aspects of contract negotiation and performance in respect of several very big Infrastructure Projects and has extensive dispute resolution experience. He is regular speaker for matters related to International Arbitration, Concession Agreements and the organisation of legal departments.

He holds a degree from the Law School of Athens, Greece, an MBA from Bayes Business School and a postgraduate tax law diploma granted from ELKEPA in cooperation with the Athens University of Economics and Business.
