Career biography

Verónica Sánchez holds a PhD in Law and Social Sciences from the University of the Republic, a Master’s degree in Corporate Law from the University of Montevideo, and is an internationally certified compliance professional. She serves as compliance manager at Aeropuertos Uruguay, where she leads the development of the anti-corruption compliance programme in line with international standards such as the FCPA.

Her work includes the implementation and updating of internal policies, training at different levels of the organisation, and the management of the reporting channel under principles of confidentiality, anonymity, and non-retaliation.

Previously, she worked as regional legal counsel at Oikocredit, an international financial institution based in the Netherlands, participating in development projects in Latin America with ESG criteria and acting as a confidante, managing reports from the ethics hotline.

Throughout her professional and academic career, she has maintained a focus on international law, corporate integrity, and good governance practices. She is convinced that integrity is not an accessory value, but an essential enabler for building trust, strengthening sustainability, and achieving a positive impact on communities.
