Career Biography

Erika Murphy joined Tirlán as General Counsel in February 2023, following its formal establishment on a standalone basis having separated from Glanbia plc in July 2022. Erika previously worked with Glanbia plc for fourteen years in various legal roles from Legal counsel to deputy general counsel. Erika graduated from University College Dublin in 2001 with a degree in Business & Legal. She is a qualified solicitor specialising in commercial law and is also a CEDR accredited mediator. Erika has shown exceptional leadership and strategic vision in establishing Tirlán’s legal team and helping navigate the organisation through the dynamic and evolving landscape since its separation from Glanbia plc. In Tirlán Erika plays a central role in managing a cross-business legal team, advising both the executive leadership team and the board of directors on complex legal and regulatory matters.

She leads her team through multi-faceted projects collaborating with external counsel and advisors. Erika’s wealth of experience in the sector and her proactive approach are instrumental in fostering collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Erika is widely respected across the Tirlán organisation and advises the business on all aspects relating to the agri-food and nutrition business as well as matters relating to Tirlán Co-operative Society Limited’s legal obligations and relations with its membership of over 11,000 members.
