Career Biography

With over 20 years’ experience as a corporate lawyer and senior executive across Europe, the US and Asia, I am currently General Counsel and Company Secretary for Greencore Group plc, having joined the business late in 2022.

We’ve been on a remarkable journey with Greencore which, like many businesses, suffered severely during Covid and the lockdowns. At the same time as I joined, most of the board and executive team were changing (including the new CEO, Chair and COO) and, since then, as a team, we have been laser focused on first stabilising the business before building back profitability. Having performed strongly in the last three years, we were in a position to agree the terms of the announced reverse takeover for Bakkavor Group plc (also FTSE-listed) earlier this year. It’s been an exciting time and subject to regulatory clearances, we would hope to be able to close the transaction in early 2026 and begin to integrate these two great businesses.

Prior to this, I was most recently responsible for the legal and corporate secretarial functions, as well as the risk, sustainability, quality and compliance functions, in my role as General Counsel and Company Secretary of FTSE-250 listed, UDG Healthcare plc (now Inizio). In addition to managing these functions, I was also supported the team on over 15 M&A transactions during my five years there, before UDG was eventually taken private by US PE giant, CD&R in 2021 and 2022.

In the years before UDG, I acted as Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel at Sysnet Global Solutions (now Viking Cloud), a fast-growing global technology business providing SaaS security compliance programs into global acquiring banks (WorldPay, Elavon, Barclaycard etc.), helping them to support their merchant portfolios with security requirements and other services.

During my time in private practice with both Freshfields and Maples, I was fortunate enough to have worked on strategically significant transactions for many great clients across the globe. Having trained and practiced for most of my private practice career as a corporate and M&A lawyer with Freshfields in their London, Tokyo and New York offices, I eventually moved back to Ireland, joining a great team at Maples’ Dublin office, and I can look back on some fascinating transactions across these firms supporting clients such as Goldman Sachs, HP, Swiss Re, Best Buy, JTI and Barclays.

If I was to summarise – I feel privileged to have worked with so many of the people I have and in so many places that I did. It’s been a hugely rewarding experience and certainly pushed my limits!
