What are the most significant cases, projects or transactions that you and/or your legal team have recently been involved in? 

My role allows me to participate in multi-sectoral projects. Among the most significant projects in 2025, we can highlight the following:

Firstly, the negotiation and execution of a joint venture between two thermal generation projects with a combined capacity of 800 MWh, involving an investment exceeding US$1.5 billion.

Secondly, the negotiation and execution of a joint venture within the automotive sector in Puerto Rico between a top local automotive dealer and MARTI group’s vehicle operations in the country, enabling to strengthen and consolidate the position of the group in the premium automotive segment.

Thirdly, Grupo Martí, a family-owned business, currently undergoing a generational transition from the second to the third generation, I have been working on restructuring and implementing its family governance and wealth management framework, securing the generation handover and furthermore the continuity of the operations and value of the company.

Lastly, the incorporation and launch of the Dominican Republic chapter of the Women’s Energy Network, as Secretary of the Board and Found Member. WEN is an association aimed at empowering women in the energy and hydrocarbons sectors, fostering leadership and new opportunities. We aim to inspire, connect, and support women to create meaningful impact today and build the future of energy in our country.

How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crisis to ensure the organisation’s resilience? 

One of the key aspects of developing legal strategies is to achieve a balanced alignment between the operational needs of the business group and the sustainable growth required – while considering the realities and dynamics of the industries in which we operate. This involves designing innovative and forward-thinking legal frameworks that foster the evolution and expansion of operations, while ensuring operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and strong economic performance.

As a member of the executive management team at Grupo MARTÍ, I am actively involved in the formulation of strategic decisions. This role enables me to anticipate, assess, and mitigate potential legal and operational risks, ensuring that decision-making is both informed and aligned with the organisation’s long-term vision.

At Grupo MARTÍ, the Legal and Corporate Vice-Presidency acts as a strategic business partner—an enabler of growth, transformation, and operational success. We embrace our role as allies to the business, contributing proactively to the company’s development and resilience in a constantly evolving environment.

Have you had any experiences during your career as a lawyer that stand out as particularly unique or interesting? 

As part of my responsibilities at Grupo Martí, I represent the shareholders in various companies where the group holds investments, actively participating in their Boards of Directors, Executive Committees, and Operational Committees. In this role, I am entrusted with the responsibility of safeguarding the interests of the shareholders, ensuring strategic oversight and alignment with corporate objectives.

This role also gives me the opportunity to engage comprehensively in the corporate life of these companies – not only from a legal standpoint, but also in matters related to operations, business structures, development processes, and sustainable growth strategies.

What is a cause, business or otherwise, that you are passionate about? Why is this? 

What drives me in my role is the opportunity to work cross-functionally within a business group, actively engaging with all operational and business areas. From a legal perspective, I contribute and play a key role to policymaking, business decisions, strategies, and development, always ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, internal policies, and the standards of our multinational partner companies.

I am also passionate about building and strengthening corporate governance, ensuring the effective operation of its governing bodies and the faithful adherence to its policies and principles.
