Career Biography

Shoko Kimijima has served as Executive Vice President (Legal and Intellectual Property) at Chugai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. since April 2025. She is a qualified attorney admitted to practice in both Japan (1996) and New York State, United States (2002).

Prior to joining Chugai, Kimijima started her career as an associate attorney at Nagashima Ohno & Tsunematsu (a leading Japanese law firm) and built extensive legal expertise through various leadership roles at prominent organisations, including General Electric Company’s Japan operations, LIXIL Corporation, and Tokyo Electron Limited.

Kimijima holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Keio University Faculty of Law and a Master’s degree from Keio University Graduate School of Law and New York University School of Law.

Since June 2023, she has also served as an Independent Director of Hino Motors, Ltd., demonstrating her commitment to corporate governance, compliance and business growth across multiple industries.
