Maher Melhem is an IT lawyer based in Riyadh and oversees the company’s legal and corporate affairs matters in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, providing support for commercial transactions and regulatory counsel on public policy issues relating, among other things, to cybersecurity, data privacy, artificial intelligence, digital safety, competition, and international trade with a special interest in the application of Saudi laws in data privacy, AI, and cybersecurity controls. In addition to Saudi Arabia, Melhem advises on different legal matters in Bahran, Jordan, and UAE.
Melhem joined Microsoft in 2019 and moved to Saudi Arabia in 2008. Prior to joining Microsoft, Melhem held a number of senior roles in SAP, KPMG, and TAG Legal. Melhem hold a master’s degree in law and a qualified lawyer since 1999. Melhem was recognised as a leading Intellectual Property lawyer by the World Trademark Journal.
