How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crises, and how does your legal strategy align with the broader business strategy to ensure the organisation’s resilience?

I work to understand the organisation’s goals and ensure that legal decisions support these objectives. By doing so, we are able to navigate crises in a way that not only mitigates risks but also positions the organisation for long-term resilience and success. Legal management is an integral part of the company’s general management, meaning that legal advice is aligned with business needs in real time.

Maintaining transparent and timely communication with stakeholders is crucial. I ensure that all legal communications are clear, concise, and aligned with the organisation’s messaging, thereby maintaining trust and credibility throughout challenging periods.

What are the major cases or transactions you have been involved in recently?

PKA Ejendomme P/S is a newly established asset management company, created with the goal of insourcing the asset management of PKA A/S’ real estate portfolio, following a period of approximately 30 years of full outsourcing. Creating the legal setup surrounding this transition has been both extremely challenging and rewarding. I have been involved in all aspects — from contract negotiations with key stakeholders and establishing the legal and compliance framework for the company, to recruiting new staff and contracting essential system support.

What emerging technologies do you see as having the most significant impact on the legal profession in the near future, and how do you stay updated on these developments?

The rapid development of legal AI stands out as having the most significant impact. I am currently using AI for drafting and reviewing contracts, but the potential applications for a General Counsel appear virtually limitless. To stay updated, I attend various courses and seminars, ensuring I remain informed on new developments and opportunities to integrate these tools into our workflows.

In your opinion, what are the main trends that are salient in your country currently (these can be legal, political, economy or business-based)?

Sustainable Development: There is a marked push towards sustainable building practices. New regulations are being introduced to promote energy-efficient buildings and the use of sustainable materials. This trend is driven by Denmark’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions and achieving its national climate goals.

Digital Transformation: The real estate sector is increasingly adopting digital tools for property transactions, management, and compliance. Legal regulations are evolving to address matters such as digital contracts, electronic signatures, and online property management platforms.
