What innovations have you made to the way your legal team works in the past year?

2024 has been an outstanding year for my Legal Team, as we successfully launched several major projects that have had a significant impact on the overall development of the Company.

One of the most important initiatives is a two-year strategic project aimed at building a comprehensive operational and business framework for the entire organisation. I was appointed as the General Leader of this Project, which is divided into two distinct stages. The core framework is expected to be completed within this year, providing a strong foundation for long-term efficiency, compliance, and sustainable growth.

Another key project focuses on leveraging technology to modernise internal workflows across all Departments. The initiative aims to integrate all company systems into a single digital platform, enabling employees to access information, guidelines, and instructions on internal regulations seamlessly.

Through this system, all employees can manage their daily work, coordination, and inter-departmental collaboration transparently and efficiently within one unified platform. When fully implemented, the project will benefit more than 23,000 employees, enhancing productivity and connectivity across the organisation.

We hope this initiative will transform the Company’s internal operations, creating a unified, technology-driven ecosystem that supports innovation, transparency, and sustainable growth.

Based on your experience, what is the key to collaborating successfully with business partners?

In my view, and based on my experience, the keys to successful collaboration with business partners include the following:

Deep understanding of the business: It is essential to have a thorough understanding of the Company’s business activities and its partners — not only from a legal perspective, but also from a commercial and operational standpoint.

Legal foresight: Continuously research and anticipate legal and regulatory trends relevant to the Company’s operations. This helps business partners plan more effectively and align their strategies with the evolving legal landscape.

Commercial mindset: Legal advice should not be limited to compliance matters. It should also consider operational realities, financial impact, potential risks, and practical solutions to overcome obstacles during implementation.

Regulatory design and strategic support: Assist business partners in designing optimal business solutions within the applicable legal and regulatory frameworks, while supporting departments in executing their strategies in the most feasible and compliant manner.

Timely and effective support: Ensure that business departments receive prompt, practical, and effective legal advice to facilitate swift decision-making.

Client-centred approach: Always treat business partners as important clients, providing advice that demonstrates understanding, responsiveness, and genuine partnership.

By adopting these principles, in-house counsel can build strong, trusted relationships that enhance both legal integrity and business success.

How do you motivate and manage the other members of your legal team well?

I have implemented several initiatives in parallel to ensure that the members of my team remain motivated, engaged, and supported in their professional growth.

Firstly, I establish clear and prompt principles and rules for the team to follow in their daily work. I also require periodic reports and conduct regular performance assessments to evaluate individual contributions. Following these reviews, I provide tailored guidance to help team members improve their performance. I hold one-on-one meetings with each team member to better understand their aspirations and challenges, offering additional support or direction where needed. Together, we build career development roadmaps with clearly defined goals, expected outcomes, and income growth plans — and I accompany them throughout the process to ensure these targets are achieved.

Secondly, I place great emphasis on training and continuous learning. I conduct monthly internal training sessions covering various legal topics to strengthen the team’s knowledge across multiple practice areas. In addition, I nominate team members to participate in external training programmes organised by government agencies and professional bodies to expand their expertise. I also provide daily guidance and feedback after reviewing their work, helping them refine their skills and enhance both their professional knowledge and overall performance.

Thirdly, I strive to create a supportive and collaborative working environment built on goodwill, mutual respect, and teamwork. I encourage openness, transparency, and consensus in all company-wide activities, ensuring that every team member feels valued and empowered to contribute.

Through these combined efforts, I aim to foster a culture of continuous growth, accountability, and shared success, enabling the team to perform at its best while achieving both personal and organisational goals.
