First, can you please give us an idea of the sort of work your team has done recently?

A few months ago, I returned to Lifeplus, a company I first worked for more than 10 years ago. I must say there is something soothing about returning to the roots and being given the opportunity to strategically and actively shape the future of a company with great potential together with a great international team. Working in a global company, especially in the first six months, means understanding the business and recognising its needs in order to support growth constructively and effectively. Driving the global expansion of a business is one of the most exciting areas from a legal perspective, as not only do you have to deal with other jurisdictions, but you are also responsible for compliance and implementation hand in hand with all areas of the business.

What particular industry trends are you seeing in the legal sector in Luxembourg?

Luxembourg is a hub for many global companies and, as such, the legal sector has been restructuring itself for the past years. Not only is it being restructured to be jurisdictionally coherent with the EU directives but also it is striving to become a multi-jurisdictional sector where these companies and their markets can have the assurance that Luxembourg’s legal sector is coherent and able to enforce procedures to best fit these global companies’ needs. One important step towards achieving this is the newly revised Constitution that entered into force last July 1, 2023, where it specifies that the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg participates in European integration. The most important legal document in the country aims toward this vision and although there is still work to be done, Luxembourg as a magnet for talent, and also very agile country when it comes to the implementation of change. I can see a bright future ahead.

What is a cause, business related or otherwise, that you care about, and why?

The cause I firmly believe in is leadership and that everything I do creates an environment in which my team can thrive. Loyalty, trust, and respect for each other are the cornerstones of every successful collaboration. The fact that we often spend more time with our colleagues than with our loved ones, makes it even more important to look after each other and to ensure a healthy work-life balance culture. I am a very ambitious person and I love what I do – and I find it fulfilling when I can help others grow with the desire that they are going to carry-on true leadership too.

I have always adhered to Immanuel Kant’s categorical imperative and will continue to do so.
