Kripa Miriam Joy is a seasoned General Counsel with over seventeen years of experience across Tier 1 domestic and international law firms and investment funds. She currently serves as General Counsel at Elevar Equity, a leading impact-focused venture capital and private equity fund.

Kripa’s professional journey includes significant tenures at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP in New York, as well as at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas in Mumbai. Immediately prior to her role at Elevar Equity, she was General Counsel for India at Lightrock, the impact investment platform of the LGT Group. Her experience is underpinned by a strong academic foundation, holding an LL.M. from Columbia Law School, New York, a B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore, and a PGPX degree, a one-year MBA equivalent, from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. She is also admitted to practice law in the State of New York.

Throughout her career, Kripa has led transaction structuring, negotiations, and execution for investments and exits across a variety of sectors. Her expertise encompasses strategic guidance for portfolio companies, governance, dispute resolution, and regulatory compliance.

Kripa is also passionate about learning and development. She taught a trimester-long elective on negotiations at the National Law School, Bangalore, and brought the same dedication to Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, where she designed and implemented a firm-wide learning initiative tailored to specific practice groups.
