Have you had any experiences during your career as a lawyer that stand out as particularly unique or interesting?

Becoming a corporate lawyer is a daily challenge. Aligning corporate and commercial goals with legal compliance is not always an easy task. For this reason, as lawyers, we must always maintain a broad understanding of the business and immerse ourselves in areas that do not necessarily fall within our core expertise.

Providing secure and legal mechanisms becomes a fundamental role of an in-house lawyer. Overcoming paradigms and limitations surrounding the traditional conception of a lawyer’s role turns into an indispensable function — one that requires practice, knowledge, and skill to align with commercial objectives without neglecting our regulatory responsibilities.

Looking forward, what trends do you foresee in the legal landscape over the next 5–10 years that companies should prepare for?

The new policies and regulations that have been enacted in recent years show that lawmakers have placed significant emphasis on the protection of rights aimed at safeguarding information, whether personal or sensitive. Issues that just a few years ago did not appear to be properly protected or regulated have now become fundamental.
Following this trend, the next five to ten years appear to be marked by a clear movement toward protecting information as a stronghold—especially when considering the rise of artificial intelligence and all the potential implications and complexities it may bring.
