Career Biography
Sarah Rubombora Kansiime is a lawyer with twelve years’ experience in the aviation industry. She works as the Company Secretary for Eagle Air Ltd, one of Uganda’s longest serving air transport and aircraft maintenance companies operating into East, Central and Southern Africa.
She has transactional experience in the acquisition and disposal of multi-million-dollar aircraft, aviation finance and insurance. She has observed first-hand how global aviation regulation affects the end users in Africa. She effectively communicates the business side of aviation to key funding partners. Over her career, she has managed the successful application for financing of three aircraft purchases and completion of the construction of one of the largest aircraft maintenance hangars in Uganda. In 2019, she identified a funding opportunity in a World Bank funded project to upskill technical staff within Eagle Air. She led the application process with her team, and they won a grant of Ugx 118,903,200. This funding became a critical lifeline to enable continued compliance during the down time for the aviation industry during the Covid pandemic.
Kansiime represented Ugandan operators’ interests on the Northern Corridor Airspace Management Project, the National Aviation Policy development and the strategy to revive the Ugandan national carrier.
Kansiime is a management representative for Eagle Air’s ISO Quality Management System and HSE Management systems and participates in the day-to-day internal audits and other compliance requirements to meet the ISO standards.
Kansiime is passionate about enabling systems to work so that the people behind them are able to thrive. She believes in the growth of African Aviation as a key driver for intra-African trade. She is also an entrepreneur in the service industry and runs Aviator Café in Entebbe. Her greatest honour is to be a Christian, a wife and mother of her two daughters.
