What strategies do you employ to ensure the successful digital transformation of a legal department while maintaining compliance with your country’s data protection laws?
Ensuring compliance of processes through a digital approval system, actively embracing AI to improve personnel efficiency, prohibiting the feeding of key data and materials to AI, or uploading only after de-identification and ensuring that important data does not leave the country, in compliance with relevant laws and regulations such as the Personal Information Protection Law and the Data Security Law.
Based on your experiences in the past year, are there any trends in the legal or business world that you are keeping an eye on that you think other in-house lawyers should be mindful of?
Compared to lawyers, in-house legal professionals possess a legal-business mindset, delve into the front lines, and have the ability to solve problems.
How does your team contribute to the overall business strategy of the company? Can you share an example of a recent legal-led initiative that had a significant impact?
Compliance creates value. By proactively rectifying issues and actively embracing regulatory oversight, we avoid the fate of other competitors, where a particular business was subject to significant administrative penalties.
