Mr Xu Wei has worked in the legal field since 2007, having served in the legal departments of China General Consulting & Investment Co., Ltd. and CITIC Securities Company Limited. He is currently Head of the Legal Department at CITIC Securities Company Limited.

Mr Xu is proficient in international trade practices and the full range of business activities undertaken by securities firms. He is well versed in civil and commercial law, company law, securities law, litigation law, arbitration law and other relevant legal frameworks. He has a strong legal foundation and an in-depth understanding of both international and domestic arbitration rules.

He has represented numerous arbitration cases before the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission and the Beijing Arbitration Commission, and has acted in litigation and enforcement matters in courts across Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong, Sichuan, Jiangsu and other regions. His professional expertise primarily covers securities law, company law and international trade, including disputes relating to corporate bonds, interbank non-public directional debt financing instruments, share pledge repurchase, margin financing and securities lending, financial product distribution, fund custody, equity repurchase and international guarantee disputes. He is particularly skilled in handling a wide range of capital-markets-related disputes.

In addition to case work, Mr Xu has led his team in completing research projects including Research on Illegal Activities and Risk Prevention in the Professional Field of Securities Company Practitioners and Optimisation Path of the Commitment System for Parties in Securities and Futures Administrative Law Enforcement—Based on Observations of the Current Situation of Securities Administrative Law Enforcement. These projects were recognised as Outstanding Key Research Projects by the Securities Association of China in 2022 and 2024, respectively.
