How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crises, and how does your legal strategy align with the broader business strategy to ensure the organisation’s resilience?

I think prioritisation of risk mitigation and agility, while ensuring compliance and ethical standards, is the best approach during these periods of instability. Also, the legal strategy must be closely aligned with the broader business strategy by focusing on proactive risk assessment, scenario planning, and clear communication with all areas of the company.

What are the main cases or transactions that you have been involved in recently?

While I cannot disclose specific transactions, my recent work has involved regulatory matters, commercial contract negotiations, settlement agreements and day to day legal activities to protect companies’ assets in Argentina and Bolivia (900+ towers). These projects required close collaboration with external counsel and internal teams of the company to ensure legal soundness and strategic alignment.

What role does the legal department play in promoting and ensuring corporate social responsibility in your organisation?

The legal department plays a key role in embedding corporate social responsibility (CSR) into the organisation’s operations. This includes advising on ethical sourcing and compliance with environmental and labor regulations. We also help ensure transparency and accountability in CSR reporting and stakeholder engagement.

What do you see as the major legal challenges for businesses in Bolivia over the next five years, and how are you preparing to address them?

I believe in Bolivia we could face some regulatory changes inflationary pressures, and evolving labor and environmental laws in the next years. Additionally, digital transformation and data privacy regulations will continue to shape legal priorities. To prepare, we are focusing on continuous legal education, scenario planning, and building strong relationships with local counsel and regulatory bodies.
