How do you approach the management of legal issues during periods of instability or crisis, and how do you align your legal strategy with the broader business strategy to ensure the resilience of the organisation?
Training, transparency of information, and fluid, cross-functional communication are key to ensuring that everyone is aware of what is required of each actor and/or unit in order to meet objectives.
What do you think are the main legal challenges for companies in Bolivia over the next five years, and how are you preparing to address them?
Among the legal challenges, the issue of compliance is becoming more pressing within companies. Regulatory compliance, anticipating risks in order to minimise them, and being able to face any adversity are part of the tasks that we as in-house lawyers have to be at the forefront of. Of course, the use of digital intelligence is an issue that is already being explored in depth and is being used more extensively, with due care given to the risks involved in using this type of tool. However, when used properly, it is a very useful resource for lawyers.
At the company level, we have a training tool called Ubits, which helps you develop new skills or strengthen existing ones so that you can apply them in your work. I have also enhanced my skills with a master’s degree in compliance, a master’s degree in risk management, and courses in cybersecurity.
