Career Biography

Juan Fernando Carrión Robalino is an Ecuadorian solicitor with a proven track record in corporate, regulatory and administrative law, with a particular focus on the insurance, prepaid healthcare, medical law and construction sectors.

His professional practice has been characterised by legal leadership in organisations with highly complex operations and regulations, as well as a practice focused on strategic legal risk management and strengthening compliance systems. Since May 2025, he has served as Legal Director of Equisuiza Seguros S.A., one of Ecuador’s most prominent insurance companies. In this position, he is responsible for managing the legal department, leading the implementation and supervision of the company’s legal strategy, and ensuring strict compliance with the applicable legal, regulatory, and corporate framework. Between 2017 and 2020, he served as Legal Coordinator of Corporación Quiport

S.A., the concessionaire of Quito’s Mariscal Sucre International Airport, one of the

country’s most strategically significant infrastructure projects, characterised by a

highly complex concession operation. In this capacity, he actively participated in the

company’s contractual, regulatory, and administrative management, as well as in

its interactions with public sector entities and strategic partners.

Juan Fernando Carrión Robalino is an Attorney-at-Law admitted to practice before

the Courts and Tribunals of the Republic of Ecuador, having obtained his law degree

from Universidad de las Américas (UDLA). He holds a Master’s Degree in National

and International Litigation and Arbitration from Universidad San Francisco de Quito

and has further complemented his academic training with specialised studies in

Compliance, Corporate Governance, Business Ethics, and Administrative

Sanctioning Law at Universidad Espíritu Santo. He is currently a candidate for a

Master’s Degree in Administrative Law at UDLA.
