What is a cause, business or otherwise, that you are passionate about? Why is this?

I am passionate about legal operations. I believe the value of having a well-structured, cross-functional legal operation that is aligned with the real pace of the business is still underestimated. When the legal function has clear processes, effective cross-team communication, and a structure that can scale, risks are reduced, costs are optimised, and efficiency increases across the organisation.

In my experience, an in-house legal team must move at the same pace as the company and serve as a bridge between external legal advice and corporate language, translating complex legal criteria into clear, actionable decisions. For that to work, it is also essential for Legal to understand the company’s business and priorities, so it can support decision-making in a truly strategic and practical way.

I view legal operations as building processes, workflows, standards, and communication strategies that are tailored to the company’s reality, not as paperwork. It is not about creating processes just to have them in place, but about designing structures that keep Legal aligned with the business and allow the function to act as an enabler rather than becoming a bottleneck. This also creates the capacity for the team to respond in a more focused, faster, and effective way when urgent or high-impact matters arise.

Looking forward, what trends do you foresee in the legal landscape over the next 5–10 years that companies should prepare for?

I expect we will see continued acceleration in the adoption of legal technology, particularly AI-driven tools and automation. This will take place in an increasingly fast-paced and complex business environment, where companies will continue to demand efficiency, consistency, and clarity from their legal functions.

I believe companies should prepare to incorporate AI as a true ally for process optimization and more data-driven decision-making and risk management, without viewing it as a replacement for professional judgment. The key will be using it responsibly, with the right technical preparation, strong legal judgment, and a clear focus on quality, and consistency.
