George Cave is a celebrated and experienced in-house counsel based in Arizona with copious international experience, including a seven year stint in Switzerland covering Eastern European and Chinese legal business for Motorola in the mid-1990s. A founder general counsel at ON Semiconductor, a $1.6bn spin off from Motorola, Cave has expertly led the legal affairs of the multi-billion dollar technology company since its creation in 1999. He has been a vital leader in its $500m IPO and fourteen subsequent acquisitions, including the 2016 purchase of Fairchild Semiconductor for $2.4bn following which ON Semiconductor has become a nearly $5bn company. As general counsel, secretary, chief risk officer and chief compliance and ethics officer, Cave has been at the forefront of all of the company’s deals, transactions and policies from a legal perspective. He designed the company’s industry award winning corporate governance and ethics policy and enterprise risk management strategy demonstrating his vast experience and leadership.
