Parkin Lee’s appointment at Rockefeller five years ago was the latest landmark in a career that began as a design and project engineer for GE’s Aircraft Engine Group, and resulted in 20 years with New York Life Insurance, via stints at legacy firm Dewey Ballantine LLP, and American Express. Lee demonstrates that he is keen to help others achieve similar success, by chairing the Legal Opportunity Scholarship Committee at the American Bar Association. The scholarship, which was first introduced by William Paul, grants 20 incoming diverse law students with $15,000 of financial assistance over the course of their three years in law school. More than 50 law schools participate, and all of the scholars have committed to public service duties such as volunteering and pro bono work either prior to, during, or after law school. Lee is also a former president of the Foundation at National Asian Pacific Bar Association.
