Garanti Emeklilik was founded in 1992 as a private pensions company, a subsidiary of one of Turkey’s largest private sector banks, Garanti Bank. Since then the company has grown to become one of Turkey’s largest insurance firms, selling life insurance and other services across almost 1,000 bank branches. Head of the legal department, Ayça Ögel, has been with Garanti Emeklilik since 2006, when she joined as a junior lawyer. Today, the company’s in-house legal team oversees all legal matters related to the company’s product offering and works to protect the Garanti brand. The team is recognised for having impressed private practice peers on a range of matters when delivering business-focused advice.
