DKSH Thailand has provided its market expansion services in four main business units, including fast moving consumer goods, healthcare, performance, materials and technology. In order to serve the specific needs of internal stakeholders as well as DKSH’s clients and customers, the company’s legal department has assigned senior lawyers to provide legal support for each business unit. The team is made up of nine lawyers, one compliance manager and one administrative manager. DKSH has a unique business structure where many regional and global functions are based in Thailand. For this reason the legal team have the opportunity to provide services to people at various levels, giving them the chance to learn and expand management skills at different levels and managing the works that meet the requirements and expectations of those individuals. Led by vice president, legal and compliance Jaturong Jerdsakulboon, the team comprises of Panu Muanpetch, country director (fast moving consumer goods business unit), Yuwasan Vivekmetakorn country director (healthcare business unit), Veeravi Benyajati country director and resolution of legal matters for fast-moving consumer goods, Ruethairat Tiyawatcharanon legal counsel of the healthcare business unit as well as senior compliance manager Chaiwat Nopmaneepaisan. The group legal team has also developed a new contract management policy for the Group’s companies and the Thai team have played a key role in providing inputs and comments in regards to its integration and progress. The objective for developing the new policy is to reflect the operational issues and concerns that the business has faced. Approaching major changes for the organisation with great legal expertise and competence, Jerdsakulboon says: ‘It is considered as a real success for the DKSH’s legal team as a whole given that we could convince the business to accept new approaches we have added in the new policy in order to close the gaps in the real business operation’s practice’.
