Based on your experience, what is the key to collaborating successfully with business partners?
The key to effective collaboration is proactive legal integration. As an energy lawyer, I focus on training business and non-legal teams on critical legal considerations — such as contract management, negotiations, and claims — ensuring that potential risks are addressed early. This approach prevents disputes, enhances compliance, and facilitates seamless deal execution.
Apart from legal matters, has the team worked on other company initiatives you would like to highlight?
Beyond traditional legal advisory, my team has played a strategic role in capacity building within the energy sector. We have led training programs for commercial and technical teams, equipping them with the legal knowledge required to navigate complex energy contracts, regulatory challenges, and risk management. This initiative has significantly enhanced compliance awareness and operational efficiency across the organisation.
What is a cause, business-related or otherwise, that you are passionate about, and why?
I am deeply passionate about corporate governance and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) in the energy industry. Strengthening governance frameworks in Saudi Arabia aligns with Vision 2030’s commitment to fostering a transparent and investor-friendly business environment. Additionally, promoting mediation and ADR mechanisms within the energy sector can drive efficiency in dispute resolution, reducing reliance on lengthy litigation processes that could impact major energy projects.
