Ana Busuioc is legal and corporate affairs at Edenred Romani. She also oversees and coordinates legal operations in three other companies within Edenred Group: Edenred Digital Center, Benefit Systems and Benefit Broker de Pensii. She is a graduate of the University of Constanta, Faculty of Law and Administrative Sciences, with post-graduate studies in Business Law, at the University of Bucharest. She began her career as a legal advisor in 2006, having over 17 years of experience in the legal field, both as a lawyer, being a member of the Bucharest Bar Association, as well as general counsel. 

As a lawyer, she advised and represented clients in areas such as international arbitration, energy, public procurement, corporate law, civil and commercial contracts or litigation. For more than eight years, Ana has been coordinating both the legal and public affairs departments at Edenred. She was directly involved in the development of the first implementation, in Europe, of a social programme using electronic vouchers, through the Fund for European Aid to the Most Deprived (FEAD); the legislation on grating holiday vouchers; the legislation on grating social vouchers to kindergarten children from disadvantaged families; the legislation on granting meal vouchers in Moldavia; and the unitary law of vouchers. 

Thanks to excellent communication skills, the unique ability to build consensus, and experience as a spokesperson, Ana implemented a CSR European Programme in Romania: Fighting Obesity through Offer and Demand (FOOD) in a close partnership with health public institutions (Romania’s Presidential Administration, Ministry of Health, National Institute of Public Health, Family Medicine Association). 

In her current position, she oversees a team of in-house lawyers, working closely with the external lawyers, Ana is also responsible for ensuring Edenred operations are legally compliant. She was recognised as a pioneer of legal technology in Romania, implementing since 2017 a new tool for better managing the legal tasks by the members of the legal team: JIRA service desk. This helped the legal team to see the workload in real time, better manage the allocation of tasks, transparent SLAs, improve the time to response, as the tool also represents an archive of the legal requests and their answers. This innovation came at a very low cost, as JIRA was used already in the company by the IT team, and the personalisation of the project was performed in-house. 

Later, she implemented a legal knowledge base, with predefined answers to the most common legal requests from the colleagues, to improve more the time to response and reduce workload of the legal team; the tool can be accessed also online, by mobile phone, by all the colleagues, and functions like a search engine. 

Ana spends her free time with her family, travelling, enjoying jazz concerts, but also reading history or philosophy books.
