General counsel and Head of legal and compliance | KPMG Poland

Career Biography

Edyta, a member of the firm’s Management Committee and a non-executive board member of the KPMG Foundation in Poland, is a trusted C-suite sparring partner, combining rigorous legal judgement with commercial acuity to support executive decision-making, with a particular focus on enterprise risk and governance.

With more than 20 years of experience across in-house leadership and advisory roles, Edyta has built a distinguished track record in steering complex, highly regulated agendas within global organisations. Prior to joining KPMG, she served as Executive Director, Legal & Compliance, and Management Committee member at Pratt & Whitney Poland (RTX Group). In this role, she led regulatory and risk management for Polish operations, supported business-critical initiatives end-to-end, and represented the company in strategic engagements with industry stakeholders.

Earlier, as general counsel at Veolia Water Technologies, she enabled sustainable business growth by designing efficient legal delivery models and partnering closely with regulators and clients.

Edyta’s leadership is defined by disciplined execution at scale. She has designed and implemented end-to-end governance and compliance frameworks, including structured documentation architectures, integrated onboarding programmes (legal, information security, data protection), enterprise-wide data protection systems, and the modernisation of compliance processes through new roles and operating models.

Innovation is central to her approach. Edyta has consistently advanced legal tech and automation to enhance consistency and control, redesigning debt recovery workflows, introducing data-driven reporting, and piloting tools that reduce manual effort while strengthening governance in areas such as authority management and contract analysis. The result is a legal function that not only safeguards the organisation but actively enables growth, credible and aligned with business priorities.

A defining element of Edyta’s profile is her sustained commitment to professional excellence and lifelong learning. She holds a Master’s degree in Law and Administration from Jagiellonian University and completed studies in EU law at the University of Cambridge. She is a licensed attorney-at-law (Warsaw Chamber) and completed her judicial apprenticeship in Warsaw. Her further education includes an LL.M. in International Commercial Law (ALK), postgraduate studies in Law of New Technologies (ALK), and Sustainable Finance and ESG at the University of Warsaw (with distinction, 2023). She is also a graduate of the Warsaw University of Technology Business School programme for Supervisory Boards for Leaders (2025–2026) and completed executive leadership development with the Thayer Leader Development Group at West Point.

Edyta’s leadership has been widely recognised. She was named one of Forbes Poland’s ‘Top 25 Women Lawyers in Business’ (2023), inducted into the Koźminski University Hall of Fame (2022), and received the Koźmiński Lions Award for professional excellence and leadership (2019). She is an executive-level lecturer and an active contributor to public and expert initiatives, including work related to artificial intelligence.

In essence, Edyta represents the next generation of general counsel: a guardian of trust, architect of resilient systems, and board-level leader who translates complexity into clarity, while keeping business outcomes firmly in focus.
