Have you had any experiences during your career as a lawyer that stand out as particularly unique or interesting?
Some including the developing a first-of-its-kind legal concept under a regulatory regime that had been introduced just months before (in Mexico), the negotiating with Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante) scope of non-sensitive data and the implementation of first of such scale (non-intra group) GDPR compliant joint-controllers model across CEE markets.
What do you think are the most important attributes for a modern in-house counsel to possess?
I believe these are commercial and technology fluency, proactive risk-mitigation, delivering business impact metrics to demonstrate contribution of legal, cross-functional capability and adaptability.
AI is increasingly being integrated into legal teams to maximise efficiency. How can in-house counsel ensure the successful incorporation of these tools without compromising the human element?
By introducing and execution of the metrics measuring efficiency of both through tasks of different complexity, encourage team-members to actively support business from early on, cross-functional capability and adaptability.
