Lead regional counsel | AmeriGas (UGI International)
Career Biography
As a strategic legal leader in the energy sector, I have dedicated over 15 years to navigating the intricate intersections of law, commerce, and industrial evolution. My career has been defined by a transition from the rigorous foundations of top-tier legal practice to a pivotal role as General and Group Counsel for a major international energy corporation. Throughout this journey, I have maintained a steadfast belief: legal expertise is most valuable when it functions as a catalyst for sustainable business growth.
Currently, I serve as a trusted member of the regional management team at AmeriGas Polska, a key subsidiary of the NYSE-listed UGI Corporation. In this capacity, I provide strategic legal support across a diverse nine-country region, encompassing Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Finland. Managing such a broad geographical footprint requires a high degree of versatility and a nuanced understanding of varying regulatory landscapes. I oversee the full spectrum of legal matters, from corporate and commercial law to GDPR, intellectual property, IT, competition, labor, and real estate.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my current tenure is my active involvement in the green energy transition. As the sector shifts toward a lower-carbon future, I have taken a leadership role in business negotiations for wind, solar, and bioLPG projects. I view my role as a strategic architect, designing the legal frameworks that allow these innovative initiatives to move from concept to commercial reality. I manage extensive B2B and B2C portfolios and coordinate a sophisticated network of external advisors across multiple jurisdictions to ensure our operations are both seamless and secure.
My leadership extends beyond corporate walls into industry advocacy. As a member of the legal committee for the Polish LPG Association, I actively participate in drafting legislative amendments and lobbying efforts. This allows me to stay at the forefront of policy changes that impact the energy market at large.
Earlier in my career, I refined my expertise in M&A and comprehensive corporate services as a Senior Associate at Kochański & Partners, an Associate at Garrigues and Wardynski & Partners. These years were formative, involving high-stakes legal audits and due diligence processes that taught me how to identify the fine-grained details that can make or break a transaction. My commitment to this level of excellence was recognised in 2019 when I was named in Legal 500’s GC Powerlist: Central and Eastern Europe, highlighting my work as an innovative in-house counsel.
My academic background — a Master of Laws from the University of Warsaw and an American Law certification — provides the theoretical foundation for my work. As a certified Legal Advisor and Approved Compliance Officer, I prioritise ethical integrity as much as commercial success.
To me, success is not merely the absence of litigation; it is the creation of “legal resilience.” I strive to build systems that are robust enough to withstand volatile global markets yet flexible enough to foster rapid innovation. I am driven by the challenge of ensuring that the business can reach its most ambitious goals with both speed and security.
