Gerente de Legales | Sacyr Concesiones Paraguay
What are the projects that you are most proud of working on over the past 12 months?
In recent months, I faced the challenge of working on the legal structuring of the extension of PPP Contract No. 01/2017 for National Route PY02, which aims to connect the city of Asunción with Route PY02 in order to reduce travel time for users entering the capital, with an estimated investment amount of USD 180m.
Additionally, I worked on the preparation of the bid submitted by the Consorcio Desarrollo Vial al Sur (Sacyr Concesiones and Ocho A SA) for the International Public Tender for Route PY01, tendered under the public-private partnership model.
Based on your experiences in the past year, are there any trends in the legal or business world, specific to Paraguay, that you are keeping an eye on that you think other in-house lawyers should be mindful of?
Yes, artificial intelligence has arrived to revolutionise legal teams, and it is necessary to learn how to use it in order to gain efficiency and practicality in the development of the profession and legal practice.
What are some key attributes every in-house lawyer should possess?
In my opinion, the added value of an in-house lawyer lies in providing advice from an integrated business perspective, getting involved in the daily practice with different departments in such a way as to have an active role, offering preventive advice both from contractual management and risk assessment in legal support for decision-making.
