How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crises, and how does your legal strategy align with the broader business strategy to ensure the organization’s resilience?

During periods of instability or crises my role as Legal Counsel is to ensure a clear and structured legal framework for complex and quickly shifting circumstances. It’s important to identify and anticipate legal risks, as well as to implement proactive strategies, especially considering the highly regulated and complex nature of the infrastructure and energy sectors.

Against uncertainties, I maintain close communication with my colleagues to make sure legal advice is part of important decisions, helping to prevent issues before they become bigger challenges. My approach remains fully aligned with both operational and strategic objectives. I work closely with technical and compliance teams to develop solutions that protect our contractual position while preserving strong relationships with institutional authorities and business partners.

What are the major cases or transactions you have been involved in recently?

Recently, I have been involved in formalizing contracts for large investment energy and infrastructure projects, in collaboration with both national and international companies. I have also negotiated settlement agreements and handled legal matters related to criminal law, foreign trade, tax law, and renewable energy. These processes have required a detailed analysis of the regulatory landscape, the structuring of complex contractual frameworks, and the management of legal matters across multiple jurisdictions.

In addition, I am currently working closely with external legal counsel on key strategic matters.

What measures has your company taken to embed sustainability practices into its core business operations, and how does the role of the general counsel contribute to driving and ensuring sustainable practices within the company? 

I contribute to ensuring that corporate policies and practices comply with current environmental and social regulations, aligning contracts and agreements with environmental and ethical responsibility criteria. I also participate in the development and oversight of internal policies that promote transparency, regulatory compliance, and risk management, ensuring that sustainability is integrated into decision making at the executive level.
