Marta Struzzi has served in various in-house corporate roles for over 15 years now and describes her career trajectory as an ‘exciting’ professional journey with many useful challenges. Some of the highlights of her career include the fact that she had the chance to create her own department from scratch, continuously requiring her to think about new and innovative ways and methods to combine law and business. Struzzi joined System Group in March 2015 in the capacity of group general counsel, which was a big change from the previous luxury and fashion products field she used to work for. She nonetheless has excelled within the industrial automotive industry: ‘The corporate environment has been changing the way to do business and so lawyers like me are becoming an asset in order to ensure that all the business negotiations are protected and also according to the law’. She reflects that having had the opportunity to work with different companies, structures and business has given her the opportunity to apply her skills in different ways, morphing her into a dynamic and multifaceted corporate lawyer. Working for an international leader in high-performing industrial automation business has required Struzzi to stay up to date on how the law is practiced in different countries, which is critical in her current position where she oversees seven companies and other overseas branches and representatives offices.
