Lakshmi heads the Legal function for all Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) entities in India. She has two decades of experience as an in-house lawyer and has served as Head of Legal for the India geography for the past ten years. In her role, she is responsible for advising the India leadership team on critical and complex commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, litigation matters, data privacy, and regulatory and compliance issues. She is also a qualified mediator and a technology enthusiast.

Within the Legal Department, she leads pro bono initiatives for her region. Her team and she work extensively with the Trust Law Foundation (Thomson Reuters Foundation) on pro bono projects and were recognised for their contributions in 2017 and 2020 with the Trust Law In-House Legal Team of the Year Award. She also volunteers with a not-for-profit organisation, the Association of People with Disabilities, and provides pro bono support to them.

She has been conferred the following awards by Legal Era:India’s Finest General Counsel in 2023, 2024 and 2025; and the Women in Law Excellence Award, 2023. She is also the recipient of HPE’s highest recognition for non-sales employees, the Winners Summit Award, 2024.

Lakshmi regularly speaks at conferences and seminars, and her areas of interest include sustainability and artificial intelligence. She is a guest lecturer and corporate mentor to law students.

Prior to joining HP/HPE, Lakshmi was Global General Counsel for Indecomm Global Services/Indecomm Corporation, a mid-sized US-based information technology company, and also served as in-house counsel at IBM India Private Limited and Wipro Limited.

Outside work, she is a nature enthusiast who keenly studies rare Himalayan flowers and pursues macro photography, classical music and trekking.
