Nana Osei Kofi Addae is a distinguished legal professional and consultant with over 13 years of multifaceted experience in Ghana’s petroleum sector. He is renowned for delivering strategic, pragmatic, and value-driven legal and business solutions.

Nana Osei’s academic foundation is robust, holding a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B. Hons) from the University of Huddersfield, a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Energy Law and Policy from the University of Dundee’s Centre for Energy, Petroleum, Mineral Law and Policy (CEPMLP), and a Practising Law Certificate from the Ghana School of Law.

His professional journey includes significant tenure as Legal Counsel at the Petroleum Commission of Ghana (2012-2017), where he was instrumental in shaping the nation’s petroleum regulatory landscape. He was active in the drafting, review, and advisory processes for cornerstone legislation, including the Petroleum (Exploration and Production) Act, 2016, and the Petroleum (Local Content and Local Participation) Regulations, 2013, The Petroleum (Exploration and Production) (Measurement) Regulations, 2016 (L.I. 2246), Petroleum Commission (Fees and Charges) Regulations, 2015 (L.I. 2221). Nana Osei represented the Commission in high-stakes negotiations with International Oil Companies and reviewed critical Plans of Development for major operators. Notably, he served as an active member of the Legal Committee that helped secure victory for Ghana in the historic maritime boundary dispute case against Côte d’Ivoire at the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea, a testament to his expertise in complex international legal matters.

Transitioning to the operational side, Nana Osei currently serves as Legal Manager for the Springfield Group, providing comprehensive legal advisory services, leading contract negotiations for drilling campaigns, and managing strategic corporate initiatives including fundraising and farm-out discussions. Concurrently, as Managing Partner of Apt Business Consult since 2014, he offers expert consultancy on regulatory compliance, market entry, and contract negotiation to a diverse upstream clientele.

His influence extends to corporate governance, having held Non-Executive Director roles at Heritage Securities Ltd and Union Saving and Loans Ltd. He has also shared his knowledge as an Adjunct Lecturer at Ghana Technology University College.
