Career Biography
Alikem Adadevoh is Head of Legal at Standard Chartered Bank Ghana PLC, where she leads the legal function in supporting the Bank’s strategic and regulatory objectives. A seasoned banking and financial services lawyer, she brings over three decades of experience spanning private legal practice, international development finance, mining, and financial services.
She began her career at Fugar & Company, one of Ghana’s leading law firms, before joining the African Development Bank, where she advised on international financial transactions and institutional operations at its headquarters in Abidjan and Tunis. She later served as Head of Legal and Compliance for the Ghanaian subsidiaries of the mining firm, Golden Star Resources Limited, leading the company’s listing on the Ghana Stock Exchange and contributing to sector-wide legislative advocacy through the Ghana Chamber of Mines.
Alikem holds an LLM in International Banking and Finance Law from the University of London and is a Barrister and Solicitor and a Notary Public of the Supreme Court of Ghana. A Chevening Scholar, she is a member of the Ghana Bar Association and the African Women Lawyers Association. She is deeply committed to mentoring young professionals and advancing the rights of women, children, and underserved communities.
