An extremely successful real estate investment trust, which was known as Foncière des Régions until 2018, Covivio’s real estate legal department has five in-house lawyers and ‘places a high priority on knowledge and education’ according to highly respected real estate legal director Patrick Larcheveque. Larcheveque, who boasts 30 years of seniority with the company, explains further: ‘The team has developed a wide spectrum of expertise. Indeed, each team member oversees a particular department whether it is the asset management, the development and construction or the property marketing departments of the company’. The most significant cases that the Covivio real estate legal department has been involved in are very diverse and reflect the adaptability of the team. Alongside the sale of a portfolio of residences of a value of €200m and the marketing of office spaces covering over 50,000 square meters with an institutional tenant in the inner suburbs of Paris and several tenants in Bordeaux and Lyon, the team had a key part to play in the renegotiations of a portfolio of restaurant industry of a value of €81m and the sale of a portfolio of hotels of a value of €265m. The team’s success depends on a positive attitude. ‘The legal team is an active and supportive department, is highly skilled and extremely dedicated. It also knows how to efficiently apply its expertise, while always ensuring that the best and most pragmatic solutions are offered as soon as possible’, says Larcheveque.
