How does your team contribute to the overall business strategy of the company? Can you share an example of a recent legal-led initiative that had a significant impact?
As a legal team, we are a strategic, reliable business partner in Trust Fiduciaria. Being in the Fiduciary and Trust business, my legal team is actively involved in the entire operation of the company, providing active counseling in contract matters, securities and litigation. As preventive and reactive matters, my team advises the board of directors and the CEO in legal risk management and compliance, creating diverse strategies and boarding complex matters to assure the company’s integrity, while establishing procedures in the foregoing matters that eased case resolving in significant time, while perfectly managing risk and exposure.
As of business strategy, our legal team has a strategic role with the company’s business affairs, providing innovative solutions and tailor-made fiduciary structures highlighting unique value propositions in securities trusts along with one of the top three scores in turnaround time (TAT). Our operational efficiency and institutional agility have become strategic assets for the company’s sustained growth. Through streamlined legal processes and timely risk assessment, we can support business decisions with speed and precision. In an increasingly competitive market, our legal efficiency is a competitive advantage that enables Trust Fiduciaria to successfully engage with high value clients and long-term projects through Latin America.
What strategies do you employ to ensure the successful digital transformation of a legal department while maintaining compliance with your country’s data protection laws?
Digital transformation in my team follows the kaizen strategy aiming to improve quality and enhance efficiency, in our business it isn’t just about using software and tech tools for legal procedures. I have thoroughly employed strategies in my team involving people, data management, automation, and modernising infrastructure aligned with the company’s goals. For contract procedures we have developed in-house software and tools that allow us to generate contracts in bulk, within legal and law requirements, using e-signatures and complex AI systems that allow us to produce agreements in about 10 seconds, optimising SOPs (Standards Operating Procedures). This tool undergoes regular reviews, allowing me to adjust to resource allocation and workflows. In matters of the litigation branch, we have adopted precision case management software that is permanently connected to our Judicial Legal System, allowing us a close administration of every case and comply with strict rulings and requirements.
Using cutting edge technology and constant team training has allowed us to improve our procedures and positively transform the customer experience while meeting legal standards and local data protection laws, strengthening security and protecting every client’s privacy rights.
Which legal tech organisations or products are helping you in your role?
As of legal tech organisations, we have ongoing assessment and services from GO Corporation and Lexis Ecuador. They both provide active and tailor-made solutions for my legal department, with an active involvement of my team in regular reviews and improvements of each automated procedure.
