What are the most significant cases, projects and/or transactions that you and/or your legal team have recently been involved in?

My team has recently played a pivotal role in several high-stakes matters, delivering substantial financial recovery and supporting the Group’s strategic development. Two key highlights include:

Major Litigation Victory and Debt Recovery:
We successfully led a series of complex commercial litigation actions against multiple counterparties—including, for example, Tangshan Ganglu Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. and Hainan Xitai Energy Technology Co., Ltd.—to recover significant outstanding payments. Through targeted litigation strategies and effective enforcement measures, we secured favourable judgments and recovered close to CNY 100 million in assets and overdue receivables for the company.

Landmark Acquisition of a Public Company:
In a transformative transaction for the Group, we spearheaded the legal work on the acquisition and restructuring of the A-share listed company Fashion Avenue Co., Ltd. (Stock Code: SZ 002656). My team conducted comprehensive legal research across the full regulatory landscape—from complex securities laws to Shenzhen Stock Exchange requirements—drafted and negotiated the restructuring agreement, and facilitated the successful obtainment of all necessary regulatory approvals.

How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crisis to ensure the organisation’s resilience?

My approach is to pivot from being a gatekeeper to a strategic enabler, embedded in the core decision-making team. We provide fast, pragmatic advice focusing on critical areas such as contracts, workforce, and regulatory compliance to maintain operational stability and strengthen proactive management of legal risks, turning legal department into a platform for resilience and recovery.

Have you had any experiences during your career as a lawyer that stand out as particularly unique or interesting?

One of the most unique experiences was leading the legal team for the takeover and restructuring of a publicly-listed company. It was a high-stakes project that required navigating complex securities regulations, dealing with multiple regulators, and aligning diverse stakeholder interests under immense pressure, which was both challenging and immensely rewarding.

What factors influence your team’s decision to use external legal services versus handling matters in-house, and what criteria are used to evaluate their performance?

We decide based on specialized expertise required, bandwidth, and cost-effectiveness. Routine and strategic matters are kept in-house, while highly specialized or peak-load litigation requires external support. We evaluate outside counsel on outcome, cost predictability, strategic insight, and efficiency, not just legal technicalities.
